Books & Prints Auctions

For all bibliophiles we offer thousands of lots each year at every level of collecting in this field.

Every month each of our three sale rooms has a dedicated section to books, prints and maps and when specialist collections dictate, a complete dedicated sale can be created.

It is fair to assume that with our extensive back catalogue of book and associated sales we deal with virtually every variant within this field.  We have dealt with the sale of entire bookshops, right down to that individual first edition heirloom.

Our past sales do include a copy of Learning in Sport selling for £3,000 and venturing into the printed matter of DC and Marvel Comics, a recent collection realised a considerable aggregate sum with a single example peaking at £2,600.

From Kelly’s Directories to known classical novels such as Ian Fleming James Bond first editions to the works of Charles Dickens we consistently achieve outstanding results across the board.

The print market has also exploded.  Many prints by and after Lawrence Stephen Lowry have commanded sensational results including The Pond realising £3,600 and Level Crossing at £3,200.  Successes also range from traditional artists right up to modern day with £1,200 achieved for a Bob Dylan signed, limited edition.

In all of our offices our Resident Valuers have extensive experience within this field and for the more specialist areas we have multi-lingual consultants for the rarest antiquarian examples that are brought to us.
