Asian Art Auctions

With at least three specialist Asian Art auctions per year Golding Young & Mawer offer a diverse and high quality selection of Asian Art to the market ranging from fine porcelain, metal ware, pictures, furniture and textiles.

Selling Asian Art extends beyond knowledge of the objects but also the market place itself and the culture of the bidders.  There are ample past catalogues to view on our website to see the results.

Highlights include a Chinese marriage chest selling for £26,000, a pair of Chinese vases on a turquoise ground selling for £56,000 and a collection of decorative silk robes selling for over £11,000 at the beginning of 2019.

The Japanese market also remains strong with the finest bronzes keenly sought and fought for in a competitive market with a recent realisation of £1,800 for a Samurai figure.  In ceramics all of the key names of Imari, Kutani, Satsuma and Hirado remain at the peak of the pecking order for collectors.

Our Resident Valuers have a good knowledge within these fields and we are supported by an excellent consultancy network to assist in cataloguing the most rare and unusual pieces of Asian Art to come to market.

Whilst the specialist sales are held at The Grantham Auction Rooms, entries can be accepted at any of our offices and passed for the attention of the correct specialist.
