Very few regional auction houses have specialists in the valuation of jewellery. Kirsty Young - daughter of principal auctioneer & valuer Colin Young - has now become the second auctioneer at Golding Young & Mawer to complete her Jewellery Education Training (JET).
At a recent ceremony at Goldsmiths Hall in London, Kirsty graduated with the Professional Jeweller’s Diploma of the National Association of Goldsmiths and with this receives alumni membership. The qualification adds a specialism to her general practice membership of the National Association of Valuers & Auctioneers.
Kirsty is frequently seen on the rostrum, taking live internet auctions of antiques, fine art and jewellery. She is a second generation auctioneer in the firm and also follows Golding Young’s Head of Jewellery, Jan Squires, as the firm’s second lady auctioneer and valuer to pass the exams and obtain accreditation from the National Association of Goldsmiths.
