Coming up for auction on the 27th November is the Lincoln Baron of Sir Walter Style after William Mallett painted and designed by local artist Mel Langton. We have been approached by the purchaser of the Sir Walter Style Baron back in 2018 to resell this interesting piece.
As many local Lincoln people may remember back in 2018 there was a Lincoln Baron’s Charter Trail which included 25 large barons all painted by various artists and were displayed throughout the City up until their auction on 1st October 2018.
The Sir Walter Style baron was purchased at this auction for £3,800 and has since been a well kept piece in a private collection.
The baron of Walter Style is the vision of local artist Mel Langton whose design incorporates bright colours and a theme of fashion through the ages. Walter was named by a waterside shopper and boasts an array of eye catching colours and accessories. He was number 24 in the trail. Mel Langton herself is a Lincolnshire based designer and illustrator who loves digital design but has an equal passion for a paintbrush and pen. Mel produces a variety of work including painted canvases, posters, t-shirt designs and limited edition prints, all in her own graphic edgy and alternative illustrative style. It is really is, therefore, a treat to have such a wonderful piece coming up for auction.
The item is included as part of our Lincoln Fine Sale on 27th November. Entries for this sale close on Friday 25th October 2019. If you have any further entries or enquiries regarding this sale please contact William Gregory on 01522 524984.
