One of the most unusual and rarest items in the Lincoln Collective Sale on the 21st October 2015, was Lot 37, a rare set of fifty two playing cards.
They date from 1720 and relates to the South Sea Island bubble, bearing the slogan Moth Manuring of Land, Cole Trade from Newcastle, Irish sale cloth, Lending money upon Bottree, Liverpool freshwater, Buying seaman's tickets, sugar, and the like.
Very few have been known to be sold through auction and we expected this to make between £1000 and £1500 at auction. Watch the next video to see how much they made!
