Lot 27
A pair of 1960s Danish rosewood open armchairs
Sold: £16,500
From Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson, to Charles and Ray Eames, Joe Colombo, Ercol and G-Plan, we deal with the top names in modern furniture and sell to a worldwide client base of collectors and interior decorator designers.
Markets for light coloured, 20th century pieces rich in design are particularly strong and we help sales immensely through research of objects, finding the right clients and thorough advertising throughout the world.
Highlights are vast, an Eames chair and stool weighed in at £1300, it was by no means early but was beautifully promoted and found a private buyer at a great price. Robert Thompson items are a particular speciality here with a set of chairs fetching £5,500 in Lincoln and with regular consignments producing unbelievable results, even a breadboard made £160 with a cracked handle! Similar pieces by Gnomeman, Squirrelman and Rabbitman have also done well with many multi hundred and thousand pound results to report.
At a lower level, we regularly sell G-Plan and items from nests of tables to dining room suites are keenly contested, Ercol is usually greeted with many raised hand bidding furiously on sale day and although prices are strong, they are much better value than buying from new retail environments so if you are a vendor or a buyer we are the place to come.
20th century design has to be researched thoroughly. Names have to be attached and our Resident Valuers painstakingly look at items, associating names to objects, which is crucial in achieving successful results.
We also cater for people setting up homes, with a regular supply of electrical items including Miele, Dyson and so on. Everything is electrically tested and represents amazing value compared to buying new.
As usual we cater for all and it is advisable to come and view sales or contact us if you wish to consign or buy.
