Lot 1
A set of Oxspring medals
Sold: £44,000
All of our Resident Valuers have specialist interest in medals and more importantly the history and stories behind them.
Our success in achieving outstanding results in the sale of medals is down to our ability in conducting thorough research in this most emotional of subjects.
One of the most exciting lots to come under our hammer is the medal group of WWII Battle of Britain fighter ace, Group Captain Bobby Oxspring DFC, selling for £44,000.
We have sold major collections such as the two part Robert Campbell sale just as successfully as single lot offerings.
It is more important to research the medals and know about the recipient and our team spend diligent hours doing this, often price is irrelevant for personal items and we can research anything you may have.
Some awards and medals are not awarded for conflict at all, such as the 1892 England Football cap our Lincoln rooms sold for £1300 along with an FA Cup medal at £8065.
If you are looking to sell and it is time for 'The Great Escape', we even sold the Military Cross medal group of Bernard Green who escaped the infamous Stalag Luft3 in 1944 for £13,000.
